NSASCF Scholarship Program

The NSASCF Scholarship Program provides tuition and education-related financial support to cheer-athletes within the Stomp and Shake Cheerleading community, helping remove financial barriers to continued education and athletic participation.

How to Apply

Applications open annually (January 1 – March 31), promoted on our website, social media, and through recognized organizations.
Submit the online application, including personal/academic information, organization affiliation, a short essay or personal statement, and a letter of recommendation from a coach or teacher.
Provide supporting documentation, including a transcript and, if applicable, proof of financial need.

Review and Selection

All applications are screened for eligibility, then evaluated by our Scholarship Review Committee — made up of NSASCF staff, board members, and outside educators — using a scoring rubric that considers academic merit, financial need, the applicant's essay, and community involvement. Applicants are notified of the committee's decision within 4 weeks of the application deadline.

Awards

Scholarships of $250–$500 are awarded annually. The number of awards is determined annually based on available funding. Funds are disbursed directly to the recipient's educational institution, and recipients must submit proof of enrollment before disbursement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be actively competing this season to apply?

No. You must be affiliated with an NSASCF-recognized organization, but active competition status is not required at the time of application.

Is the scholarship renewable — can I apply more than once?
Yes, you may apply in future years as long as you continue to meet eligibility requirements. Each year's application is evaluated independently.

What if my GPA is close to 3.0 but not quite there?
The 3.0 GPA is a baseline eligibility requirement. We're unable to make exceptions, but we encourage you to apply again in a future cycle if your GPA improves.

How is financial need verified?
Applicants may be asked to submit supporting documentation (such as FAFSA results, a letter, or other proof of financial need) as part of the application. This is one factor considered alongside academic merit and community involvement.

When will I find out if I received the scholarship?
Notifications go out within 4 weeks of the application deadline (March 31).

How is the scholarship money paid out?
Funds are sent directly to your school, not to you personally, once you've submitted proof of enrollment.

Can coaches or program directors apply on behalf of a cheer-athlete?
No, applications must be submitted directly by the cheer-athlete. However, a coach's letter of recommendation is a required part of the application.

What happens if I don't get selected?
All applicants are notified of the committee's decision. You're welcome to apply again in future cycles.
