Position Overview
Position Summary
The Director of the National Black Cheerleading Championship (NBCC) serves as the primary leader responsible for the planning, production, execution, and overall success of the NBCC, the National Stomp and Shake Cheerleading Federation’s (NSASCF) flagship national event. This role oversees all operational, logistical, staffing, and production elements of the championship and ensures that the event reflects the cultural integrity, competitive excellence, and organizational standards of the National Stomp & Shake Cheerleading Federation.
The Director works closely with the Executive Board to build and manage a full NBCC staff team, coordinate crossdepartmental support, and deliver a high‑quality, culturally aligned championship experience for athletes, coaches, officials, partners, and spectators.
Key Responsibilities
1. Championship Leadership & Oversight

Serve as the primary point of contact for all matters related to NBCC planning, production, and execution.

Lead the development of the NBCC master plan, including timelines, staffing, budgets, logistics, and operational workflows.

Ensure all aspects of the championship align with NSASCF’s mission, values, and cultural stewardship.

Provide regular updates to the Executive Board regarding progress, needs, risks, and strategic decisions.
2. Staff Management & Delegation

Work in partnership with the Executive Board to recruit, assign, and manage NBCC staff roles.

Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to all NBCC staff teams, including:

Conduct staff briefings, training sessions, and pre‑event coordination meetings.

Ensure all staff understand their responsibilities, timelines, and performance expectations.
3. Event Production & Operations
-
Oversee all production elements, including staging, sound, lighting, run‑of‑show, and awards ceremonies.
-
Ensure the event environment reflects the cultural identity and excellence of Stomp & Shake®.
-
Coordinate with venue management on contracts, floor plans, equipment needs, hospitality, and safety requirements.
-
Manage event flow, scheduling, warm‑up rotations, and performance logistics.
-
Ensure all operational decisions prioritize athlete safety, fairness, and experience.
4. Collaboration with National Stomp and Shake Cheerleading Federation (NSASCF) Departments
-
Director of Event Producers: Ensure NBCC operations align with sanctioned event standards and best practices.

Director of Officials & Scoring: Secure certified officials, scoring personnel, and judging panels for NBCC.

Director of Compliance, Ethics, & Risk Management: Ensure NBCC follows all NSASCF rules, policies, safety protocols, and compliance requirements.

Marketing & Social Media Chair: Coordinate NBCC promotion, branding, media coverage, and digital engagement.

Technology & Digital Systems Chair: Support registration systems, scoring platforms, and digital workflows.

Executive Board Treasurer: Support budget planning, financial reporting, and vendor payments.
5. Partner, Sponsor, & Vendor Coordination
-
Manage relationships with official partners, sponsors, and vendors supporting National Black Cheerleading Championships.
-
Ensure all partners receive contracted deliverables, visibility, and activation opportunities.
-
Identify new partnership opportunities to enhance the championship experience.
-
Oversee vendor logistics, including load‑in, load‑out, booth placement, and compliance.
6. Awards, Recognition, & Experience Design
-
Oversee the design, procurement, and distribution of awards, trophies, medals, and special recognitions.

Ensure awards reflect the National Stomp and Shake Cheerleading Federation (NSASCF) branding and championship prestige.
-
Lead the development of the National Black Cheerleading Championships visual identity, decor, and presentation experience.
-
Ensure the event atmosphere is culturally aligned, celebratory, and memorable.
7. Safety, Compliance, & Risk Management
-
Ensure all National Black Cheerleading Championships operations follow National Stomp and Shake Cheerleading Federation (NSASCF) safety standards, emergency action plans, and risk‑management protocols.

Coordinate with medical staff, security teams, and compliance personnel.

Oversee incident reporting, safety walkthroughs, and emergency preparedness.
8. Post‑Event Reporting & Evaluation
-
Lead the post‑event debrief with staff, officials, and National Stomp and Shake Cheerleading Federation (NSASCF) leadership.
-
Review scoring data, participation numbers, feedback, and incident reports.
-
Prepare a comprehensive National Black Cheerleading Championships recap and recommendations for improvement.
-
Support the Quality Assurance Program by evaluating NBCC performance against national standards.
Qualifications
-
Experience in event management, large‑scale production, sports administration, or cheerleading operations.

Strong leadership and team‑management skills.
-
Experience coordinating multi‑departmental projects or large events.

Knowledge of Stomp & Shake® culture and community (preferred).

Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving abilities.

Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and high‑pressure environments.
